OREANDA-NEWS. September 06, 2011. According to the latest figures, in August 2011 Russian Railways carried 92.8 million passengers on all services on its own infrastructure, a 7.9% increase over August 2010, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

Passenger turnover in August 2011 amounted to 18.4 billion passenger-kilometers, 2% less than in the same month last year. In January-August 2011, Russian Railways carried 651.6 million passengers, an increase of 4% over the same period in 2010.

Passenger turnover on the Russian Railways network in the first 8 months of 2011 increased by 0.4% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 96.2 billion passenger-km.
