OREANDA-NEWS. September 06, 2011. The Estonian Education and Research Network, the State Forest Management Centre and the Estonian Society of Foresters invite children and grown-ups to participate in the computer drawing competition dedicated to the International Year of Forests, reported the press-centre of EENet.

The Year of Forests values the role of humans in the forest and the importance of forest for humans. Children can express their thoughts and attitudes by drawing pictures to their liking and thus make themselves heard in the society, equal to grown-ups. Pictures are asked to be drawn on 9 subthemes. The authors of the best pictures and their tutors will be rewarded with thematic and special awards. Deadline to submit the drawings is November 14, 2011.

EENet computer drawing competitions date back to the year 2002 when the Estonian Internet celebrated its 10th anniversary. This was followed by the competition dedicated to EENet's 10th birthday in 2003. Therewith the competitions became an annual tradition that have lasted already for nine years.
