ABBYY, HarperCollins Strengthen Partnership

ABBYY®, a leading provider of document recognition, document capture, and linguistic technologies and services, announced that it has expanded the dictionaries available for purchase and use in ABBYY Lingvo Dictionaries for iOS with premium quality content from HarperCollins, one of the world’s largest English-language publishers, reported the press-centre of ABBYY.
New mobile content includes up-to-date dictionaries for English speakers and learners of English and a series of bilingual dictionaries for translating words from English into German, French, Polish, Italian, Spanish, Chinese and back. As further steps of this strategic partnership, ABBYY and HarperCollins are planning to integrate the new content into Lingvo versions for Android smartphones and PocketBook e-book readers.

ABBYY Lingvo Dictionaries for iOS is a comprehensive dictionary and translation application for Apple® mobile devices. Empowered with breakthrough OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology, it delivers easy translation of unfamiliar words by photographing them with the iPhone’s camera. With the expanded content available for purchase and download, ABBYY Lingvo Dictionaries for iOS provides access to a total of 276 general translation, specialized and explanatory dictionaries for a wide variety of languages.
