OREANDA-NEWS. September 05, 2011. Baosteel, CNPC Talimu Oilfield and Jiangsu Xinde Petroleum Machinery Co., Ltd. signed "Framework Agreement on Three Parties' Cooperation in Talimu Oilfield High End Gas Producing Wellhead Localization Project". The three parties will jointly develop the high end gas producing wellhead applicable to Talimu Oilfield's super high pressure and strong CO2 corrosive environment, and Baosteel will develop the high pressure withstanding and super low temperature alloyed material according to the agreement, reported the press-centre of Baosteel. 

As the exploratory development of oilfields goes deeper, the environment of oil and gas production is becoming more and more adverse. On one hand, the ultra deep, super high pressure and high temperature wells keep increasing, and are highly corrosive. On the other hand, the frequent operations of large-scaled reservoir reformation and the increasing abnormal high pressure blocks lead to extremely adverse working conditions of wellhead unit, facing the severe tests of high pressure, corrosion and erosion, etc. With a view to produce these kinds of oil and gas safely and efficiently, the oil fields normally select the expensive imported high end gas producing wellhead units which often cost scores of millions of RMB, putting huge economic pressure on the oilfields.

The complicated well conditions of Talimu Oilfield impose stringent requirements on gas producing wellhead unit, so that the quality control of the manufacturing process from design, material smelting, to forging and heat treatment of wellhead equipment becomes the difficulty in the development of localized high end gas producing wellhead unit. Through many technical exchanges with CNPC Talimu Oilfield and Jiangsu Xinde Petroleum Machinery Co., Ltd., Baosteel signed three parties' agreement with them. The target is to realize the localized manufacture of high end gas producing wellhead unit from raw material to design and processing through the joint efforts.

It is learnt that the high end gas producing wellhead unit is an extended product of Baosteel's oil well tube industrial chain, and Baosteel has never been involved in its R&D before. This cooperative development is of important significance to enhance Baosteel's user service capability of oil well tube products and build the corporate operating mechanism centering on users.
