OREANDA-NEWS. September 05, 2011. Poyry's Industry Business Group has been awarded services contract by Suzano Papel e Celulose for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services for the Balance of Plant (BOP), and the Owners' Engineering services during the project implementation. The parties have agreed that the value of the assignment is not disclosed, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.

The capacity of the new state-of-the-art pulp mill is 1.5 million tonnes per annum and the start up of the mill is planned for the 3Q 2013.

Poyry has been involved in the project since April 2009 when Suzano awarded Poyry a contract for conceptual and environmental studies. In March 2010 Poyry was also awarded a pre-engineering and preparatory work for mill infrastructure.

The concept of the mill is based on the use of the best available technologies and the best environmental practices, which constitute a state-of-the-art level pulp mill.

The contract strengthens Poyry's position as the leading engineering solutions provider for the pulp and paper sector in the world.
