OREANDA-NEWS. September 2, 2011. Troika Dialog, one of the leading investment companies operating in the CIS, today announces the appointment of Chris Weafer as Chief Strategist. In his new position, Chris will be responsible for leading the development of Troika’s strategy for its clients regarding their investments in Russia and the CIS to give them a strategic understanding of the local and global markets.

Chris Weafer brings over 25 years experience in the emerging markets. Prior to joining Troika Dialog, Chris was Chief Strategist for UralSib Bank in Moscow and was previously Chief Strategist at Alfa Bank in Moscow. The appointment is a return to Troika Dialog for Mr. Weafer, who enjoyed a successful tenure as Head of Research between 1998-2002. During this time, he oversaw the introduction of Troika Dialog’s current product portfolio, which has culminated in a number 1 ranking in Russia for research by Thomas Extel. Mr. Weafer has also worked as Head of Research for Natwest Securities in Thailand and as a Senior Investment Manager for the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
