OREANDA-NEWS. August 31, 2011. Recently chairman Xu Lejiang of the Group Corporation went to Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group Baosteel Energy Technology Co., Ltd. for investigation. He pointed out that Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) is a powerful measure to practice the state's policies of saving energy, green and environmental protection, and sustainable development, and an effective approach to benefit the mankind and enterprise, assume social responsibility and improve operating performance. Baosteel Energy Technology Co., Ltd. as a new born company has a vast arena to play, which is very challenging. He wishes that Baosteel Energy Technology Co., Ltd. can enter the leading rank of the same type of enterprises at an early date, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

In recent years, the departments directly affiliated to Baosteel Co., Ltd., Meishan Steel, Special Steel Business Unit, Stainless Steel Business Unit and Baotong Iron & Steel have accumulatively established 30 EPC Projects. The practices show that EPC not only spurs on the enterprises' energy saving but also effectively drives the application of many new energy saving technologies, meanwhile, obtains the fiscal reward from the government to the maximum extent. So far, through EPC mode, Baosteel Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has implemented many high efficiency energy saving revamping projects for Baosteel Co., Ltd. Iron-making Plant, Xinjiang Yida Textile, Jijiang Group Magnolia Hotel and Meishan Steel, etc.

In the next step, Baosteel Energy Technology Co., Ltd. will explore the comprehensive development mode labelled by integration of industry and finance, give priority to serve the projects within Baosteel Group well. With energy saving business as the main line, to focus on the business of waste heat recovery, fan and pump, building energy saving and energy performance consultation, and appropriately explore and research the business of motors and energy saving of production line system.

After listening to the work reports made by deputy director Qian Feng of Baosteel Co., Ltd. Energy & Environment Department, general manager Chen Zaigen of Baosteel Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and president Jiang Weimin of Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group, Xu Lejiang pointed out that the achievements made with energy saving approaches are down-to-earth cost reduction. Baosteel Energy Technology Co., Ltd. belongs to light assets enterprise with huge potential. With the supports of various parties in the Group Corporation, Baosteel Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has achieved stable startup and favorable momentum for development.
