OREANDA-NEWS. August 29, 2011. The Turkmengurlusik-2011 International Exhibition and the Conference on Development of the Construction Industry in Turkmenistan were opened at the Exhibition Centre in Ashgabat. The international forum is held in accordance with the Resolution of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who attaches considerable significance to developing the construction industry. The forum is organized by the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Building Materials Industry, the Turkmenawtoyollary State Concern and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Over its history the International Exhibition has turned into one of the most prestigious expositions of achievements of the region in the construction and building materials industries, architecture and interior design. The impressive representation and the number of forum participants vividly illustrate the intense interest of the international business community in the rapidly developing construction industry in Turkmenistan. This year over 150 world’s leading companies and firms from 30 countries present their achievements at the International Construction Exhibition in Ashgabat. These include Knauf (Germany), Bouygues Batiment and Vinci (France), Converse Mil and Amman Rusland (Russia), Altkom (Ukraine), Hoe Leong Corporation (Singapore), Amitech Astana and Buran Boiler (Kazakhstan), Jang Group (India), Polimeks, ERG, Vefa (Turkey), Metalgalante (Italy) and others, long-term and reliable partners of our country as well as those participating in the forum for the first time.

The cabinet ministers, the heads of Mejlis, sectoral ministries and departments, diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan, representatives of the public organizations of the Galkynys National Movement, Turkmen and foreign businessmen, scientists, experts and journalists attended the ceremony of opening the International Exhibition.

The welcome address of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was presented at the opening ceremony. Congratulating participants of the Turkmengurlusik-2011 International Exhibition and the Conference, the Turkmen leader expressed belief that the forums “will provide a splendid opportunity to introduce outstanding achievements gained by our country in the construction and building materials industries in the epoch of new Revival to the world business community, discuss aspects of collaboration with companies, enterprises research institutions willing to cooperate in these sectors, specify the ways of further development of partnerships between Turkmen and foreign specialists and exchange experiences.”

Turkmen construction industry is widely represented at the large-scale exhibition. The material and technical basis of construction enterprises and the building materials industry have been significantly strengthened and extended in the epoch of new Revival and great reforms. The use of state-of-the-art high-performance equipment and advanced technologies enable to increase labour productivity and quality of construction work that meets international standards.

The expositions presented by the enterprises of the Ministry of Building Materials Industry, which aim the activity at fulfilling the tasks to meet the growing demand in domestically produced high quality building materials on the rapidly developing Turkmen construction market are particular interests to visitors. The range of domestically produced building materials is broadened with every passing year. The enterprises affiliated to the Ministry of Building Materials Industry manufacture non-metallic materials, cement, glass and decoration and heat insulated materials.

The International Exhibition is vivid evidence for the intense willingness of foreign partners to promote business partnerships with our country. The films advertising product innovations and latest construction technologies, automated lines and mini-plants producing building materials, pumps and water treatment units, panel and wall blocks, aluminium and plastic shapes, sanitary ware and decoration materials are demonstrated on the monitors in the exposition pavilions.

Exhibition participants and guests show the keen interest in the scaled models of new architectural projects. Building premieres are an indispensable attribute of not only of the capital but also the regions of the country. New administrative buildings are constructed, the historical parts of the Turkmen capital are refurbished and reconstructed, the pace of housing construction is accelerated and more high-rise apartment houses with modern conveniences spring up throughout the country. Construction of low-rise buildings is under way – individual housing construction projects are widely presented at the exhibition.

The private sector of the national economy is widely represented at the exhibition. Turkmen entrepreneurs, who enjoy the substantial state support, are more actively engaged in implementation of large-scale construction projects. Turkmen private construction companies more often act as contractors of construction of apartment houses, sports facilities and shopping centres. Moreover, Turkmen companies manufacture building materials and decoration materials, implement landscape and interior design projects and manufacture furniture.

The Conference on Development of the Construction Industry in Turkmenistan was held in the conference hall of the Exhibition Centre. Leading scientists and engineers, including specialists from the German Research Centre for Geosciences, the Helmholtz Centre (Federal Republic of Germany), the Giprostroymost-St. Petersburg Institute (Russia), Mageba (Switzerland), the Senagattaslama Institute (Turkmenistan) discussed such issues as antiseismic construction, aerated facade, extra-strong bridge bidding systems, etc.

The Turkmengurlusik-2011 International Exhibition and Conference on Development of the Construction Industry in Turkmenistan will close on August 27.
