GPNS Completes Construction of Carbon Dioxide Treatment Unit
OREANDA-NEWS. August 26, 2011. The implementation of this project will allow increasing feedstock output for more urea production.
The decision on the construction of carbon dioxide treatment unit in workshop No. 54 of Gazprom neftekhim Salavat was made for the purpose to decrease environmental impact from “dirty” carbon dioxide fraction. In future the treated carbon dioxide fraction will be used for additional expansion of urea production capacity.
Technologically the carbon dioxide treatment unit is provided as a part of ammonia block AM-76. Ammonia interacting with carbon dioxide under certain temperature conditions and pressure forms urea. The increase of “pure” fraction output by 8 200 m3/h as a result of the project implementation will provide the increase of prilled urea output up to 1000 t/day in workshop No.50 and up to 1400 t/day in workshop No.24.
At the moment the construction and assembly works have been completed on the site of workshop No. 54 of the Gas and Chemical Plan, commissioning work is under way as well as preparations for a trial run of the unit planned for August of this year.
