OREANDA-NEWS. August 26, 2011. In the first seven months of this year, Russian Railways completed the construction of major tunnels Nos. 1 and 2 and is continuing work on installing the necessary engineering systems and communication equipment. Finishing work is continuing at the station pavilion and platform, and tiles are being laid on the stairs descending from the overhead crossing. Granite slabs are being laid on the floor and the internal engineering systems installed, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

The permanent way on the platform has already been built, and lifts and escalators are now being installed. Work is also continuing on overhead crossing Number 1, and all 20 pillars supporting the crossing have been completed.

The metal spans between pillars3-7 have been installed, construction of the spans between pillars 15-20 is being completed and concrete has been poured into the spans between pillars 7-15.

In addition, work has been completed on various projects begun last year, including the construction of anti-landslide protection and laying the earthworks along the route of the future railway line.

The permanent way is now under construction, and communications networks and signalling systems are being installed.
