Moldova and Belarus to Hold Meeting of Inter-Governmental Commission
OREANDA-NEWS. The XIII meeting of the Moldovan-Belarus inter-governmental commission for trade and economic cooperation is planned to be held in Chisinau in October. The exact date of the meeting will be specified by diplomatic channels, InfoMarket was informed at the Belarus Embassy in Moldova.
It is planned that the parties will discuss intensification of bilateral trade and economic relations, will outline steps for using the available potential of the bilateral trade development, implementation of joint projects of assembling tractors and trolleybuses in Moldova. The XII meeting of the of the Moldovan-Belarus inter-governmental commission for trade and economic cooperation was held in Minks on February 15-16, 2010.
According to data of the Belarus authorities, the commodity turnover of Moldova and Belarus in the first half of this year increased by 39 percent and totaled USD 136.2 mln. Belarus production supplies to Moldova in January-June 2011 increased by 55.9 percent in comparison with the same period last year – to USD 101.6 mln, Moldovan goods supplies to Belarus increased by 5.4%, to USD 34.6 mln.
The negative balance of trade of Moldova with Belarus in the first half of 2011 increased 2.1 times – to USD 67 mln.
