New Substation “Ice palace” Started Operating in Sochi
OREANDA-NEWS. August 25, 2011. Solemn launch of the Olympic energy object – substation 110 kB “Ice palace” – took place in the Imeretinskaya lowland on “Builder’s Day”.
Substation is assigned to provide power supply for the constructed Olympic venues: Sochi Olympic Skating Center, Sochi Olympic Stadium, the Olympic Oval, the Olympic Curling Center, and facilities of the Olympic Park. Developer of the project OJSC “FSK EES”.
Closed type substation is constructed for less than two years. Innovative decisions are implemented there. All the equipment is situated in the closed room of 1325 m2. The technical decision allowed to minimize the impact of the energy object on the environment. High strength and seismic resistant of 9 p. materials were used to construct the substation “Ice palace”.
10 new substations will be constructed by the year 2014. Construction of substations “Roza Khutor”, “Laura”, “Vishnevaya”, and “Bytkha” is completed.
