At the opening of the event, the deputy minister of economy Serghei Ciobanu presented the information about Moldova’s development after the economic crisis, noting positive tendencies in industrial production, foreign trade and in the negotiations over the Agreement on the Deepened and Comprehensive Free Trade with the EU. Serghei Ciobanu enumerated key investment instruments, stressing free economic zones and industrial parks.

The deputy minister of economy said 2 out of 7 working free economic zones in Moldova are important air and water junctions of the country; soon, in addition to two industrial parks, for more industrial parks will start working in Moldova, According to data of the National Statistics Office, in the first half of 2011, Poland ranked the 10th among Moldova’s export partners (3.6% of the total Moldovan exports) and 9th among Moldova’s import partners (2.3% of the total imports to the country).
