OREANDA-NEWS. August 25, 2011. The Commission of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) found that the Government of the Orenburg Region violated Part 1 Article 15 of the Federal Law “On the Basics of State Regulation of Trade Activities in the Russian Federation”, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Government of the Orenburg Region violated the law by failure to amend No.35-p Decree “On the Measures of State Control over Production and Sales of Ethanol, Alcohol and Alcohol-Containing Products in the Orenburg Region” of 8th February 2006.

Clause 6 of No.35-p Decree approved an initiative of public associations to organise quality control of alcohol products in retail in the Orenburg Region and put the information on each unit of consumer packaging. Clause 6 of No.35-p Decree also recommended that organisations producing and selling alcohol products in the Orenburg Region should verify quality and safety of the alcohol products intended for retail sale in the Orenburg Region. Thus, the Government of the Orenburg Region approved and recommended to carry out reinspection of the quality of the alcohol products in the Orenburg Region.

According to No.654-p Decree of the Government of the Orenburg Region “On Recognising that Certain Decrees of the Government of the Orenburg Region Ceased to Be in Force” of 27th July 2011, No.35-p Decree of the Government of the Orenburg Region of 8th February 2006 ceased to be in force from 2nd August 2011.

Due to voluntary elimination of the violation, the FAS Commission closed the proceedings against the Government of the Orenburg Region.
