OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2011. Within 6 months of 2011 the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” transferred 82 mln. rubles for  the implementation of the programmes aimed at decrease of the impact on the environment of the territories adjacent to the port, which is twice more than within the same period of the previous year.

Major part of the funds – 76.8 mln. rub – was transferred for programmes on water resources protection at the territory of the Container terminal of Fourth Stevedoring Company. In particular, outer networks of storm water sewerage system and sewerage pump stations were modernized. 

About 1.3 mln. rubles were transferred for maintenance of storm water sewerage systems and water treatment facilities at the terminals of the group of the companies. 

About 3.9 mln. rubles were transferred for development of environmental documentation and for monitoring of the environment. Works on removal and elimination of production and consumption waste were also performed.

Within the implementation of the programme on removal of environmentally unfriendly cargoes from the territory of Saint-Petersburg the group of companies gradually transfers handling of coal to the Multipurpose Reloading Complex in port of Ust-Luga.
