OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2011. At the end of July, the purchasing department of SAIC Motor Corporation Limited informed the auto sheet division of Wisco marketing company that SAIV Motor will officially start to change to massively use Wisco steel as dual-phase steel and so on, and offer Wisco orders for 78 kinds of auto parts, which means Wisco wins great achievement in development of high-end automobile steel market with big progress, reported the press-centre of Wisco.

To follow the trend of future vehicle safety and lightweight, all vehicle companies increased use ratio of high strength automobile steel. After the successful cooperation on Wisco galvanized sheets, SAIV Motor proposed officially that the company will use dual-phase auto sheets from Wisco this year.

Dual-phase steel is a bottleneck for automobile steel development due to its tough production, high strength and low yield. In order to seize high-end auto steel market, Wisco accepted a test order of dual-phase galvanized steel from a vehicle parts factory in April 2010.

After one-year research and hard working, Wisco tested its 29 pieces of dual-phase steel in an auto parts factory of SAIV Motor and all of them were qualified in one time on 18 July. Meanwhile, the dual-phase steel samples sent to Shanghai were also accepted with its performance test. At the end of July, the purchasing department of SAIC Motor Corporation Limited informed Wisco marketing company that SAIV Motor will officially start to massively replace original Roewe material with Wisco dual-phase steel.
