OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2011. It is of great significance to secure a full operation of the Single Economic Space from 1 January 2012, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko stated in a meeting with his Russian counterpart in Sochi on 22 August.

The Belarus President stressed that it is of high importance to secure a full operation of the Single Economic Space of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia starting from 1 January 2012.

Belarus incurred considerable costs by joining the project, but the country believes the idea of the Single Economic Space development to be crucial for creating equal conditions for the companies and people in the region. The position of the Belarusian leader was strongly advocated by the Russian President.
