OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2011. PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih” announces scheduled stop of Blast Furnace #5 on Monday, August 15. The aim of this stoppage is temporary closedown of the furnace before capital repair.

Rinat Starkov, CEO of PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih”: ”The furnace worked out its life time and was stopped as scheduled under control of Gosgorpromnadzor (State Service for Mining Industry Supervision) and ArcelorMittal. Capital repair of this furnace was scheduled by ArcelorMittal within core modernization needed for up-to-date iron making, environmental view and modern energy-saving and energy-efficient technology. The stop of blast furnace will not impact the output because the other blast furnace #9 started to work in normal duty.”

The furnace will translate in closedown condition before repair start. This stop was scheduled and would not impact iron output produced by Sinter Plant and Blast Furnace Department of PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih.”
