SOGAZ Increased Profit by 33% in First Six Month
OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2011. The cumulative insurance fees collected by the companies of SOGAZ Group (OJSC SOGAZ, LLC IC SOGAZ-Life, OJSC IC SOGAZ-Med, LLC IC SOGAZ-AGRO, LLC IC SOGAZ-SHEKSNA, OJSC MIC Sheksna-M) based on the results of the first six months of 2011 equaled 65.64 bln rubles, which is a 19% growth year-on-year. The total volume of insurance payments made by the Group amounted to 41.80 bln rubles.
The fees collected by the Group on voluntary (classical) types of insurance increased by 16% and reached 35.50 bln rubles (insurance payments — 12.76 bln rubles).
Property insurance premiums increased by 20% to 17.46 bln rubles. Insurance payments totaled 4.20 bln rubles.
In voluntary personal insurance (with the exception of life insurance) the collected fees increased to 15.38 bln rubles (+7%), insurance payments were 7.75 bln rubles.
Liability insurance premiums dropped by 12% (1.73 bln rubles) while insurance payments totaled 425 mln rubles.
The fees collected on compulsory medical insurance grew by 27% (29.60 bln rubles). Insurance payments amounted to 28.38 bln rubles.
As in the first quarter of this year, the largest increment in fees collected within the Group was demonstrated by SOGAZ-LIFE — 444% (1.42 bln rubles compared to 260 mln rubles in the first six months of 2010). Insurance payments increased to 711 mln rubles.
As far as the compulsory third-party liability car insurance is concerned, the fees went down to 448 mln rubles (-4%), insurance payments being worth 268 mln rubles.
By the end of the first six months of 2011 the overall value of SOGAZ Group companies’ assets amounted to 109,71 bln rubles. The Group’s insurance reserves (gross) grew to 74.31 bln rubles (+7%). The aggregate capital of the Group increased by 27% to 24.93 bln rubles.
The Group’s return on investments in the first six months of 2011 totaled 2,35 bln rubles (+15%). The Group’s net profit (per RAS data) compared to the first six months of 2010 increased by 33% to 5,19 bln rubles.
