Moldova Negative Balance of Trade with 27 EU Up 26,2%
OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2011. In January-June 2011, Moldova increased exports to the EU states by 67.5 percent – to USD 498.2 mln, imports to the EU – by 42.8 percent, to USD 1,056.2 mln, according to the National Statistics Office.
The European Union countries’ share in the total Moldovan exports in the first half of 2011 increased from 49% to 49.8% in comparison with the same period last year and their share in the total Moldovan imports rose to 44.5% from 44.1%. Most Moldovan exports to the EU states accounted to Romania - USD 172.5 mln (+ 67.2% against the same period last year).
It was followed by Italy - USD 98.3 mln (+54.3%), Germany - USD 55.6 mln (+84.4%), UK - USD 44.7 mln (+33.1%), Poland - USD 36.4 mln (2.1 times growth), Bulgaria - USD 14.5 mln (2.4 times). Most imports to Moldova from the EU in the first half of 2011 accounted for Romania - USD 264.7 mln (60.6% growth against the same period last year).
They are followed by German - USD 179.1 mln (+43.5%), Italy - USD 168.6 mln (+42.6%), Poland - USD 54.7 mln (+24.8%), Hungary - USD 46.6 mln (+76.5%), France - USD 45.8 mln (+38.4%).
