OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2011. The European countries are among Moldova's top trade partners, covering 13 out of Moldova's top 20 sale markets, according to the data put out by the National Statistics Bureau (BNS).

Three European countries (Romania, Italy and Germany) are among Moldova's first five trade partners, in terms of turnover of the trade operations carried out in the first quarter of 2011.

Russia further holds the first position in the top, with the trade operations' turnover standing at 647.4 million dollars in the first six months of 2011. Russia is the largest sale market for Moldovan goods, with the exports' turnover reaching 262.2 million dollars and the main provider of goods on the Moldovan market, with the imports' turnover standing at 385.1 million dollars.

The trade operations carried out with Romania, which holds the second position in the top, are estimated at 437.2 million dollars. Romania is followed by Ukraine (trade operations worth 351.5 million dollars), Italy (266.9 million dollars) and Germany (231.7 million dollars).

The top five trade partners hold 57.4 per cent of the overall trade operations (imports and exports) carried out by Moldova in the first quarter of 2011, which amount to 3.375,900 billion dollars.
