Vnukovo International and Boeing Company Sign MOU at MAKS-2011
OREANDA-NEWS. August 22, 2011. The signature of a Memorandum of Understanding between Vnukovo International and the Boeing Company took place yesterday at the MAKS-2011 Moscow Air Show.

Among other considerations, and provided a definitive agreement is reached later on, the MOU outlines the Parties' collaboration on a range of issues including:
analysis of impact of modern AC type use on Vnukovo's [throughput] capacity
procedure and ground technology operations formulation in view of the latest developments in Vnukovo International's infrastructure
procedures and techniques to be developed for simultaneous use of the Airport's twin intersecting runways.
'Boeing has demonstrated global experience in integrating the technological capabilities of today's modern airplanes with existing air traffic management systems," said Sherry Carbary, Vice President, Boeing Flight Services. "Our solutions will optimize the use of air space and greatly enhance the value to all users of Russian airspace.'
Vasily Alexandrov elaborated further by saying: "In our quest to increase Vnukovo's capacity, we decided to turn to Messrs. Boeing with their globally-proven experience in the field. This will, without a doubt, significantly enhance the Airport's operations.
Vitaly Vantsev, JSC Vnukovo Airport First Deputy Director General, also present at the event, reminded the audience that the year 2012 would see the commissioning of a virtually all-new airfield at Vnukovo International, an effort on a scale heretofore unseen in the
"What with the existing Federal rules and regulations, we are currently promised a mere fifty-five aircraft movements per hour, whereas the rest of the world plays by a somewhat different set of rules,' said Vitaly Vantsev. In his words, the MOU being signed with Boeing Co., by 2013 would enable Vnukovo International to handle as many as 99 to 124 aircraft movements per hour depending on prevailing takeoff and landing patterns.
