The company's compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001 will prove high quality of its services and reliability on a global scale. In addition, by integrating the updated management system the company will improve operations performance and quality of business risk management and acquire a competitive edge over its competitors who do not have ISO certificate in place.
ISO 14001 is designed to promote more effective and efficient environmental management. Avlita plans to roll out the standard to ensure the highest environmental safety of the company at each stage of metal and grain loading and continuous improvement of its environmental performance.
It will take five months to prepare for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification. By December all structural units of the company, in close cooperation with the specialists from Bureau Veritas, will have completed 5 pre-certificate stages:
1) analysing the existing system, holding consultations on development of the management system complying with ISO standards
2) training senior and technical staff on the rules and requirements of ISO 9001 и ISO 14001, certifying internal auditors;
3) developing documents complying with ISO quality standards;
4) introducing Integrated Management System and assessing its efficiency;
5) carrying out pre-certificate audit.
When all the stages are completed Avlita is to go through certification process.
"Avlita is a progressive company trying to keep up with a changing world, improve the quality of provided services, modernise its facilities, and mitigate environmental footprint at the same time. To achieve the objectives and move our management system to a higher quality level we have made the decision to build globally recognised management system into our business and carry out the ISO certification audit," stated CEO of Avlita Stevedoring Company Sergey Posokhov.
