OREANDA-NEWS. August 22, 2011. Enterprises subordinate to the Agriculture Ministry of the country increased export of farm products 26.7% on the year in January-June 2011 to USD 1.296 billion, an official in the ministry told reporters.

The rise in exports was owing to the increase in prices and higher volume of supplies.

Dairy products accounted for 56.9% of all exports, meat and meat products 32.2%, casein 3.2%, and eggs 1.46%.

Exports to Russia reached USD 1.172 billion, up 25.6%, to other CIS countries were at USD 66.3 million, up 70%, to foreign non-CIS states USD 56.9 million, up 15.4%, including USD 47.3 million worth of exports to the EU, up 3.7%.

Exports were to 38 countries of the world in January-June 2011, compared with 45 countries in the same period of 2010.

Foreign trade surplus came to USD 694.1 million in the first six months of the year. In January-July, foreign trade showed a surplus of USD 849.1 million.
