OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2011. HRT Participacoes em Petroleo S.A. (the “Company” or “HRT”) (BM&FBOVESPA: HRTP3, TSX-V: HRP), today announced that HRT America Inc. (“HRT America”), subsidiary of HRT O&G Exploracao e Producao de Petroleo Ltda.(“HRT O&G”), will hold, today, the opening ceremony of its office in Houston, USA.

The subsidiary will lead the G&G and engineering matters for HRT`s projects in Africa with an initial focus on the Company’s blocks located in Namibia, where the company currently executes 3D seismic acquisition.

HRT America is chaired by the geologist Dr. Wagner Peres, who has a broad background in technical matters and project management in the sedimentary basins of the South Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. His professional experience encompasses a 30-year career, working for Petrobras and Devon Energy. For Petrobras, he was the proponent of the wells that resulted in the Marlim Field discovery in the Campos Basin in the deep-water exploration phase. For Devon Energy, he was the exploration manager responsible for the team that recently discovered the significant pre-salt oil reserves located in the Campos Basin.
