OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2011. Stroytransgaz has constructed the second section of 750 kV Kalinin NPP–Leningradskaya HV line within the framework of the power distribution facilities construction for Kalinin nuclear power plant (KNPP) energy block No. 4, reported the press-centre of Stroytransgaz.

The construction of a new 18.3-km section of 750 kV KNPP–Leningradskaya HV line will provide a processing capability to connect more than 250 km of 750 kV KNPP—Gribovo HV line that are under construction to 750 kV KNPP outdoor switchgear. 

The commissioning of the main power grids planned for October–December, 2011, will ensure the delivery of 1,000 MW capacity of KNPP new energy block to the Moscow Energy System. This will allow adding new consumers and increasing the energy system reliability in general.
