OREANDA-NEWS. August 18, 2011. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine 200 million UAH to construction of wholesale markets of agricultural products in Kiev, Donetsk, Lviv, Kharkiv and Chernihiv. According to the Head of Ministry of Agrarian Policy Mykola Prysyazhnyuk the creation of modern and efficient infrastructure of agrarian market will be a significant factor for enhancing the efficiency of agricultural production in general.

As reported the Head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy the budgetary allocation for the construction of wholesale markets of agricultural products carried out in the framework of the economic reforms of the President, in particular, the Development Program of the Ukrainian village in 2015.

"One of the weighty elements of this program is to provide agricultural market infrastructure, in particular, a network of wholesale markets of agricultural products", - the Minister stressed.

According to Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, establishment of a modern and effective infrastructure of agrarian market will be a significant factor in increasing the efficiency of agricultural production in general. "Today the situation has developed in such a way that the Ukrainian agricultural sector is characterized by the concentration of the main agricultural production in the private peasant households. But they do not have the conditions for long-term storage of products nor well-established and effective distribution channels. As a result – the agricultural producers experiencing significant financial loss which affects the efficiency of production", - the Minister noted.

Establishment of wholesale markets for agricultural products occurs on the public-private partnership. In order to expedite the construction of these markets the investors have been made schedules of commissioning of infrastructure facilities of wholesale markets according to which the deadline for its introduction - in 2014. The volume of private capital attracted for the implementation of projects on construction of wholesale markets in Lviv, Kiev, Zaporizhia and Donetsk regions estimated at more than 4 billion UAH.
