OREANDA-NEWS. August 18, 2011. Unite – is the only mobile telephony operator of Moldova that managed to increase its market share in the second quarter of 2011. According to data of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Unite’s market share in terms of the number of clients increased by 0.9 percentage points – to 4.9 percent, while indicators of the two other mobile telephony operators reduced, the Moldtelecom’s press release reads.

In the second quarter of 2011, Unite connected 31.2 thousand clients to its network, reaching the highest growth among mobile telephony suppliers – by 24 percent. In the first half of this year, the number of Unite’s clients increased by 22.6 percent – to 161 thousand. The positive evolution of the number of Unite’s clients resulted in the 28.3 percent increase in Moldtelecom’s incomes in the mobile telephony segment. Unite also achieved a considerable growth of the number of 3G Internet users – by 2,642 users (plus 22.69 percent).

According to the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Telecommunications and Information Technologies’s data, the Unite’s market share in this segment increased by 1.5 percentage points, to 10%. Moldtelecom has worked on the mobile telephony market of Moldova under the Unite trademark.
