OREANDA-NEWS. August 17, 2011. For seven months of 2011 by railway transport of Ukraine was carried 263 million 58 thousand tons of cargo, that was 8.7 % higher than the corresponding period last year. During January -July have increased volumes of export traffic by 9.1 %, internal – by 8.8% and transit – by 14.4 %.

In domestic traffic was carried 142.3 million tons of cargo. Among them were dominated coal - 53.3 million tons, iron and manganese ore - 23.4 million tons and mineral building materials - 21.8 million tons.

The export cargo was carried 72.3 million tons. The basis of export cargo traffic were iron and manganese ore - 19.6 million tons, mineral building materials - 14.8 million tons, ferrous metals - 13 million tons, grain and grinding products - 4.7 million tons, coal - 4.3 million tons, petroleum and petroleum products - 2.3 million tons.

In transit traffic carried 27.2 million tons. The basis of transit amounted to petroleum and petroleum products - 8.9 million tons, coal - 5.2 million tons, iron and manganese ore 3.3 million tons, ferrous metals - 2.2 million tons, and chemicals - 1 8 million tons.

In imported carriage of cargo a major proportion amounted to coal - 6.8 million tons, petroleum and petroleum products - 2.2 million tons, iron and manganese ore - 1.9 million tons, and mineral building materials - 1.2 million tons.
