OREANDA-NEWS. August 17, 2011. The Government realizes pilot projects on introduction of energy efficient light-emitting diode illumination in the host cities of Euro-2012 (Kuiv, Kharkiv, Lviv and Donetsk). It was declared by the Prime Minister Mykola Azarov during his visiting an exhibition-presentation of production of domestic manufacturers of energy efficient light-emitting diode lighting techniques in Kyiv.

"First of all, we need to introduce such illumination in cities where energy is used a lot. Now we have very simple choice: we have four host cities of Euro-2012", - Mykola Azarov told, adding, that in immediate prospects heads of region state administrations would receive the task to introduce energy efficient light-emitting diode technologies in budgetary establishments.

Thus the Prime Minister noted that at construction of new objects of a social infrastructure it was necessary to use these technologies, as well as at carrying out of repairs to lay means for introduction of light-emitting diode illumination.

The Prime Minister also has set the task within 2-3 years to create a light-emitting diode of the Ukrainian manufacture.

"Our main task - for 2-3 years to create own manufacture of light-emitting diodes and then we completely can provide not only our selves, but also our neighbours", - Mykola Azarov noted.

The exhibition-presentation of production of domestic manufacturers of energy efficient LED lighting techniques is organized by the State Agency for Science, Innovation and Information. The presentation was lead by chairman of the State agency Volodymyr Semynozhenko and the Head of the state target scientific and technical program "Development and introduction energy saving light-emitting diode light sources and lighting systems on their basis " Victor Sorokin.
