Estonian Air Growth Close to 20%
OREANDA-NEWS. August 17, 2011. In July Estonian Air carried 70,156 passengers, which is 18.2% more y-o-y. The punctuality of Estonian Air flights was 90.6%, which is 5 percentage points higher than y-o-y, giving Estonian Air the position among the most punctual airlines in the world, reported the press-centre of Estonian Air.
In July Estonian Air carried altogether 70,156 passengers, 58,464 of these on regular flights. The total number of passengers increased by 18.2% y-o-y, and on regular flights by 7.4%.
In the first seven months of 2011, Estonian Air carried altogether 378,017 passengers, 337,447 of these on regular flights. The total number of passengers increased 7.5% y-o-y, on regular flights 16%.
In July Estonian Air carried 63,200 passengers in Tallinn, which is 14.1% more
y-o-y. In the first seven months Estonian Air carried in Tallinn 329,745 passengers in Tallinn, which is 7.5% more y-o-y.
Rauno Parras, the Vice President Commercial of Estonian Air noted that
Estonia is the fastest growing aviation market in passenger numbers in Europe this year. Estonian Air, the biggest carrier in Tallinn airport, contributed to the growth by increasing frequencies to several destinations and opening new air connections. “Estonian Air will concentrate on increasing transit traffic opportunities via Tallinn to support more aggressively network development of both, Estonian Air and Tallinn Airport,” added Parras.
Estonian Air operated 6,541 flights in the first seven months, which is 10.5% more flights y-o-y. In July 1,039 flights were operated, which is 14.4% more flights y-o-y.
Estonian Air is among most punctual carriers in the world. The regularity of Estonian Air flights in the first seven months was 99.1%, which is 1.4 percentage points higher y-o-y. The 15-minute punctuality was 91%, which is 4.4 percentage points higher y-o-y.
In July the regularity and the punctuality were 99.6% and 90.6% respectively.
