OREANDA-NEWS. August 16, 2011. Carro, a famous Brazilian auto magazine, has conducted a comprehensive test and comparison of ten entry-level models in Brazil through judging 13 most important indicators. The ten models involved included Fiat Palio Fire, Fiat Mille Economy, Chevrolet Celta LS, Effa M100 ,Fiat Uno Vivace, Ford KA, VW GOL Ecomotion, Chevrolet Corsa Classic, Renault Clio and Chery QQ, reported the press-centre of Chery.

The 13 indicators included acceleration time, braking time, average fuel consumption, internal space, trunk volume, maintenance cost, evaluation of used cars, interest rates of installment, terminal price, insurance expenses, warranty period, comfort cost and safety cost. Upon professional evaluation and analysis by Carro, QQ came out on top in overall performance, ranking first in six items including braking time, maintenance cost, warranty period, terminal price, comfort cost and safety cost.

QQ is the most classic model of Chery. Since entering the market in 2003, QQ has been active in the global market for up to eight years. Years of robust sales have led to a huge number of QQ cars possessed, and the total sales have exceeded 80 units. In Brazil, thanks to Chery’s strong marketing service network and spare parts supply system, combined with low prices and convenient maintenance of QQ parts, the actual use cost of QQ is very low. In the survey by Carro, QQ was 666 points and over 2,000 points lower than the second winner Fiat Uno Vivace and the tenth respectively in maintenance performance, showing its low maintenance cost.

Also, QQ is a real fuel saver. The ACTECO high-performance engine independently developed by Chery is fundamental to QQ’s fuel conservation. Besides, the tiny alloy body and the overall weight of less than 900kg make QQ more fuel-conserving. In the evaluation by Carro, Chery came in second among the ten similar models in fuel consumption.

Despite small size, QQ is not inferior in dynamism and controllability at all. QQ is powerful, with a naturally aspirated gasoline engine, a five-speed manual transmission, as well as an electric-control mechanical five-speed manual and automatic transmission. In the test of per-100-kilometers acceleration time by Carro, Chery finished 14.7 seconds, ranking third. QQ’s high quality is also reflected in its outstanding controllability and stability. The internationally acclaimed MacPherson independent suspension and trailing arm suspension system structure, combined with the chassis calibrated by famous British company, Lotus, ensures the superb controllability and stability of QQ. QQ broke the world record of “narrowest drifting” in 2009, and set a world record of “four-vehicle crossing” in 2010. In the evaluation of braking time by Carro, QQ was second to none, too.

Chery has been focusing on improving the safety performance of its products. Chery’s collision safety laboratory may be ranked among world top five in hardware equipment and testing capacity, can meet the requirements of relevant safety laws and regulations of countries and regions like China, Europe, the U.S. and Japan, and can conduct statutory tests such as frontal collision, 40% offsetting collision, side collision, rear collision and rollover. It is the advanced hardware facilities that have ensured QQ3’s lead in safety. While giving thoughtful consideration to passengers’ safety, QQ is not inferior in comfort and convenience. Therefore, in the evaluation of safety cost and convenience cost by Carro, QQ remained on top.

It is just over three months since QQ entered Brazil, but the Chery classic has been highly recognized by Brazil’s most professional auto magazine for its overwhelming superiorities in appearance, interior, safety, configuration, etc. It is Chery’s rich experience in such aspects as technical R & D, manufacture and quality control that has ensured QQ’s high quality and good services. So far, Chery QQ has sold well in nearly 80 countries and regions, retained the top sales title of Chinese mini cars for seven consecutive years, and achieved global sales of 800,000 units, thus becoming a four-title mini model in sales, quality, energy conservation and cost performance.
