Cumulative Oil Output at Vankor Field Hits 25 mn Tons
OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2011. Rosneft reached a cumulative output of 25 million tons of oil at its Vankor field, reported the press-centre of Rosneft.
Daily production currently stands at 315,000 barrels. This year, Vankorneft, a subsidiary of Rosneft that is developing the field, is planning to produce 15 million tons of oil, two million tons more than in 2010. The increase will come from the launch of new wells and field infrastructure. For instance, four well pad sites were brought onstream in March-April. Currently, 12 teams are drilling production wells at the field.
Additionally, before the end of the year, the company is due to complete 76 kilometers of pipeline from 10 well pads and launch the second leg of NPS-1 (oil pumping station on the Vankor-Purpe trunk pipeline), which will help increase oil preparation capacity to 16 million tons a year. Today, construction work at the field is carried out by 58 contractors, over 6,000 workers and 1,240 units of equipment.
Completing the construction work and gradually launching the facilities will allow the company to meet production targets and pave the way for further project development. The Vankor field is expected to yield 25 million tons of oil a year at its peak.
