Moldova Reduced Wine Exports by 5% in 1H
OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2011. Moldova reduced wine exports by 2.8 mln liters (5%) in the first half of 2011 year-on-year, to 53.7 mln liters. The biggest volumes of Moldovan wine supplies in January-June 2011 accounted for Belarus – 19.3 mln liters, Ukraine – 15.5 mln liters and Russia – 9 mln liter, the agriculture and food industry ministry reported.
At the same time, Moldova increased champagne (sparkling wines) exports by 38.1 thousand liters (4.8 percent) in the first half of this year, to 828 thousand liters.
Most Moldovan champagne was purchased by Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
