OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2011. Moldovan insurance companies’ profits in the first half of 2011 totaled 20.62 mln leis, down 3.3 times year-on-year.  The Moldasig company earned the biggest profits in this period – 26.7 mln leis, while the biggest losses were seen by the Donaris-Group company – over 8 mln leis.

The total assets of Moldova’s insurance companies in the first half of this year amounted to 1,994 mln leis, up 11.4 percent over the same period last year. Insurance companies’ net assets totaled 1,111 mln leis, up 13.3 percent against the first half of 2010, the authorized capital stock – 451.7 mln leis (+11.1 percent), insurance reserves and funds – 596.2 mln leis (+11.7 percent).

In January-June 2011, insurance companies’ premiums totaled 466.2 mln leis (+6.2 percent), compensations – 172.8 mln leis (+11.4 percent). As of June 31, 2010, 24 insurance companies worked on the Moldovan market.
