OREANDA-NEWS. August 12, 2011. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Regulation dated August 1, 2011 №840 "On the statement of the Program of updating of locomotive park of railways of Ukraine for 2012-2016".

Aim of the Program is updating of locomotive park of railways of Ukraine for maintenance of uninterrupted transportation of passengers and cargoes. In particular, it is stipulated to get 509 units of new modern passenger and cargo locomotives as single, and double feed. Active purchase of a traction rolling stock will begin already from 2012 in which it is planed to get 66 units, in 2013 - 104 units, 2014 - 110 units, 2015 - 114 units and in 2016 the park will be updated with 115 locomotives.

Performance of the Program is provided to carry out due to own and involved means of railways of Ukraine, as well as other sources roughly in volume not less than 28674,63 million UAH.
