Moldovan Industrial Output Grew 9,1%
OREANDA-NEWS. August 11, 2011. Particularly, in June this year, industrial output increased by 11.6 percent compared to June last year, the National Statistics Bureau reports. The industrial output growth in January-June 2011 was determined by the increase in the mining industry – by 20.6 percent and in manufacturing – by 11.3 percent.
At the same time, production and distribution of electricity and heat decreased by 3.3% from a year earlier. Production of foodstuffs and beverages during the first half of 2011 climbed 2.2 percent in Moldova. Particularly, production of finished food for animals grew 2.4 times, production of canned fruit and vegetables – 11.8%.
Production, processing and canning of meat increased 5.8 percent, diary production – 3.9 percent, beverages – 0.6 percent. A considerable growth in January-June this year was reported by enterprises producing machines and equipment – 1.6 times. Production of other non-metal mineral products (glass, cement, gypsum and others) grew 26.1 percent, tobacco products – 21.6 percent, textile production – 11.4 percent. Manufacturing of clothes increased 5.8 percent, leather and shoes – 5.1 percent, furniture – 2.8 percent.
At the same time, output of vegetable and animal oils in January-June 2011 reduced by 7.2 percent, rubber and plastic goods – 5.1%. Paper and cardboard production reduced by 4.6 percent. Reduction in provision of steam and hot water was 4.4 percent, production and distribution of electric power – 2.4%.
