OREANDA-NEWS. August 10, 2011. The Government has cancelled the VAT for import of pampers. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov informed about it during visiting kindergarten N550 in Kyiv.

"Yesterday the Government cancelled the order, prepared by Ministry of Health, on introduction of the VAT for some goods of medical purpose, including pampers. Now it is entrusted to all supervising bodies to check up, that sellers have returned to those prices which were", - Mykola Azarov told.

At the same time the Prime Minister emphasized, that the problem of opaque and unfair pricing on import medicines, the consumer goods anywhere go away, and the Government works above its decision. Essentially the problem can be solved by creation of conditions for progress of a domestic production of the appropriating goods and transparent pricing on the basis of a free competition of the domestic and import goods.

Thus he added that in Ukraine would be constructed enterprises on manufacture of disposable children's pampers. According to the Prime Minister, actual cost of pampers in 5-6 times below the price on which they are on sale in Ukraine. "It is absolutely abnormal. It occurs because importers buy for nothing, overestimate the price, and nobody can check it, in fact taxes are not present - to check it is impossible", - Mykola Azarov emphasized.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine also informed that he charged to Ministry of Health and fiscal bodies to lead consultation with importers of medicines, the goods of medical purpose to find the conciliatory proposal in interests of consumers of such "sensitive" goods for the Ukrainian families. At the same time he charged to warn attempts to make profit on citizens, unreasonably overestimating prices.
