Baosteel Chairman Met Australian Ambassador to China
OREANDA-NEWS. August 08, 2011. Baosteel Group Chairman Xu Lejiang met the Australian Ambassador to China, Dr. Geoff Raby, in Baosteel Building. Both sides carried out the friendly exchanges on the relevant trade cooperation between Australia and Baosteel, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.
Dr. Geoff Raby has served as Australia's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of, Director of International Organizations and Legal Division and other important posts. He has made impressive achievements in the field of international trade, especially in the promotion of agricultural trade liberalization. Since 2007, Dr. Geoff Raby began working as Australian Ambassador to China.
During the meeting, both sides discussed on the economic and trade cooperation between Australia and China, especially in the field of the cooperation status quo and future development trend of the steel industry. Dr. Geoff Raby commented that the development of Chinese enterprises in Australia should focus on making brand effect from a strategic view. He hopes to enhance exchanges with Chinese enterprises and explore the long-term development mode. Xu Lejiang introduced the current cooperation situation between Baosteel and the related Australian enterprises. He commented that there is much complementary room for economic development between China and Australia. Australia has some resources, which are indispensable for the steel industry in China. Baosteel and Australian enterprises are willing to actively explore ways for the future cooperation.
