OREANDA-NEWS. August 08, 2011. The specialists of TATNEFT have developed and implemented measures aimed at reducing failures in the Company's power supply, improving the reliability of electricity supply facilities feeding the facilities of TATNEFT. In addition an investment program for reconstruction of the power supply system of TATNEFT is also being implemented, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

Priority measures to reduce failures in the electric power supply system include performance of repair operations. The total funding for major repairs of the Company's power-consuming equipment for 2011 will amount to 267 million rubles. The amount of 116.7 million rubles was spent for 6 months of 2011 in accordance with the plan.

The activities to clean up the corridors for overhead power lines have been developed by TATNEFT jointly with the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. During the period from February till April this year the Company together with regional forestry units performed a survey of 2.5 thousand km of overhead power lines passing through forest areas, and determined the amount of work to clean up the routes.

The work on cleaning line routes and selective felling of trees began in May of this year. As compensatory measures the structural divisions of TATNEFT planted 1.1 thousand km of forest plantations in the last decade, 247 thousand seedlings and about 63 thousand of aged trees.

Reliability of the power supply to oil production facilities largely depends on the reliable operation of the external network, owned by "Distribution Grid Company." Therefore, today there are plans developed and are in the process of being approved for joint activities of TATNEFT, "Distribution Grid Company" and "Neftekonsortsium" allowing to significantly improve the reliability of external power supply for oil production facilities. Their implementation has been planned for 2011 - 2016.

The investment program to improve the reliability of the TATNEFT power supply system is long-term and it will last for 15 years. This year, General Director has decided to implement this program in 10 years.

In addition to the above, TATNEFT has built an automated system of commercial power metering (ASKUE) and the Company also implemented a system of remote control and remote signaling at the operating electrical equipment. All these activities provide for ongoing creation of the intellectual (intelligent) power grid in TATNEFT.
