OREANDA-NEWS. August 05, 2011. Ukraine can become the significant inter-regional player in the market of fresh fruit and vegetables. The Minister Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk has declared this during joint with the President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych survey of construction logistical centre with storehouse for storage of fresh vegetables and fruit in Kakhovka Kherson region.

As the Minister Agrarian Policy and Food noted, occurrence of such objects testified on increase of a level of confidence in an investment climate of Ukraine. "The agriculture is one of the largest components of the Ukrainian economy which requires investments for progress. Ukraine is the important international player in the market grain. I consider, that owing to realization of such projects Ukraine becomes very fast also the significant inter-regional player in the market of fresh fruit and vegetables", - Mykola Prysyazhnyuk emphasized.

According to the Minister, the situation in the market of vegetables shows, on the one hand, constant internal demand, and with another is significant deficiency of modern warehouse which leads to essential losses at storage of vegetables and consequently, to deficiency and price fluctuations throughout a year. "The best mechanism to deicide this problem is a construction of modern warehouse for storage of vegetable production. We should build a modern and effective chain from farmers to a table of everyone citizen. So we will guarantee, on the one hand, sufficient maintenance of Ukrainians with fresh vegetables under reasonable prices and, on the other hand, we will create the most favourable conditions for manufacture and realizations of agricultural production", - Mykola Prysyazhnyuk noted.

The Minister also reminded that now the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food realizes the scale program of progress of an infrastructure of the agrarian market. In particular, five wholesale markets of the agricultural production are being built and two of which - in Lvov and Kiev have already opened for buyers. Construction of warehouses of vegetable production has begun almost in all areas of Ukraine and next year the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food is going to initiate reduction in price of credits and the partial compensation of the means spent for construction of vegetable storehouses, and the compensation for agricultural production for storage of production in warehouses.

Let's remind, today the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Foodstuffs of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk together with the President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych visited Kherson region during which it was examined construction of the logistical centre with warehouses for storage of fresh vegetables and fruit. The first turn of the logistical centre is ready to accept a crop in volume of 50 thousand tons and according to investors of construction; it will make this storehouse the largest in the CIS countries and central and the East Europe. And it will be possible to store at the same time more than 200 thousand tons of vegetables in the centre after completion of construction.

It is planned to invest 200 million USD within five years in construction of the centre.
