OREANDA-NEWS. August 4, 2011. JSC NC “KazMunayGas” and KAZENERGY Association announce the third Republican Journalistic Skills contest "Power of the Pen".

The main goal of the contest is to draw public attention to the achievements of Kazakhstan in the oil and gas industry, increase interest of Kazakhstani oil and gas companies in transparency and information openness, maintain friendly and healthy competition among the media in Kazakhstan, which covers oil and gas topics, as well as create a model of unified media space.

Editorial teams of republican, oblast, city and regional periodicals, as well as television and radio broadcasting companies and individual candidates - journalists (staff and freelancers), who work in regional and republican media, and other writers, the articles of whom were published or used in television and radio broadcasts, may participate in the competition.

This year's contest "Power of the Pen” will be held on the following categories:

Grand Prix;

the best program/special coverage on oil and gas industry topic at the

Republican TV;

the best photo-report;

the best radio program;

the best article in the republican print media;

the best article in the regional print media in the Kazakh language;

the best article in the regional print media in the Russian language;

the best student work;

the best blogger;

the best article about the history of oil and gas industry.

The introduction of new nominations will allow promoting the progressive types of new-media (blogging, mobile journalism) among journalists and draw the attention of young media professionals to covering of topics in the oil and gas sphere.

The articles that are published in newspapers and other registered media may be presented at the contest, including Internet media and video materials that have been presented on television and radio during the period from 1 January, 2011 to August 20, 2011. Application deadline is August 25, 2011.
