OREANDA-NEWS. August 04, 2011. The NBM’s foreign exchange reserves totaled USD 1,971.9 mln, reaching a new absolute historical record. At the same time, according to the National Bank of Moldova’s data, they grew inessentially in comparison with the previous reported week – by USD 0.6 mln or 0.03%. As of July 15, 2011, the NBM’s foreign exchange reserves totaled USD 1,971.3 mln, being the previous record of the NBM’s foreign exchange reserves.

The previous historical record totaled USD 1,922.7 mln and was registered on June 10, 2011. As it was reported earlier, during July 8-15, the NBM’s foreign exchange reserves grew USD 77.5 mln, resulting from the receipt of the next – fourth – disbursement of the credit from the IMF under the country’s funding program. 50 mln SDR, amounting to over USD 79 mln were intended to support Moldova’s currency reserves.
