Weifang East Steel Pipe Supplies Guardrail to Jiaozhou Bay Bridge
OREANDA-NEWS. August 01, 2011. Jiaozhou Bay Bridge totaling 26 miles, which connect the Qingdao city with Huangdao. The ten billion yuan bridge has the widest deck and longest sapn in the same type of sea-crossing bridge in the world, reported the press-centre of Weifang East Steel Pipe.
according to Guinness World Records, The world’s longest sea-crossing bridge was Causeway which stretch across Lake Pontchartrain, Jiaozhou Bay Bridge is 2.5 miles longer than the former.
Moreover, the guardrails of the bridge are genuine “Made in Weifang”. The guardrails of the bridge with a total length of 41.58km are all produced by Weifang East Steel Pipe Co., Ltd.,. During the course of design,the company overcome many difficult points,and do technic treatment about Security, anti-corrosion, anti-dazzle, antidinic to ensure the durability of the long-lasting projects.
Guardrails used in this project are going to be top of the line in China, the safety is guaranteed. Experiments prove that, crash a 50 tons container truck against the guardrail, even if the guardrail deform,the truck will not fell into the sea.
There are no problem about quality, of even greater concern is the guardrail aseptictechnic. At the beginning of the design,the eaststeelpipe company designed more than 100 plans,assigning technical personnel to test the guardrail septictechnic in several different environments all over the countries The problem was solved only after a year of much effort, and access to the relevant experts’ widely recognized.
Reporter learned from the Jiaozhouwan Construction Headquarters, the cost of guardrail project of the whole bridge was very high, The costs total 150 million for just whole line steel guardrail, that mens the guardrail cost 200 yuan per square metre.
In the long-lasting projects, Weifang East Steel Pipe Co., Ltd., for a total of " Jiaozhou Bay Bridge" to provide 3262 tons of guardrail products, 41.58km in total, That is how,all guardrail production of the bridge.
The guardrail in the project are all made of Q235D steel, has better physical properties than Q235 used in common highway ,providing enough resistance to tension, compression and torsion.
