OREANDA-NEWS. August 01, 2011. The Moldovan authorities will facilitate the country entering procedure for the current and potential investors of free economic zones. It is stipulated by the respective bill elaborated by the Ministry of Economy and published on the Ministry’s website for public discussion.

According to the document, these foreign citizens will be exempted from the obligation to present an invitation to get a visa on the basis of the written notification of the Ministry of Economy, and current or potential investors of free economic zones will be able, basing on the same conclusions of the Ministry of Economy, to make visas in the state border crossing terminals. To get the right for job placement and temporary residence in the country for work purpose, foreigners will have to submit the request and necessary documents to the Ministry of Economy and the respective decisions will be published not later than within 15 work days since the moment of submission of the application.

The respective alterations were initiated at request of the free economic zones’ residents, particularly, the American corporation Lear Corporation that has been facing troubles when organizing visits of its managers and trainers to Moldova to train Moldovan workers. It is planned that if the experience proves to be positive, this practice may be applied to all foreign investors.
