OREANDA-NEWS. July 29, 2011. Donetsk will receive the modern ground-based subway on analogue of subway in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) which will unite the centre with sleeping areas of city. The vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Minister of infrastructure Boris Kolesnikov informed about it.

"In general it is difficult to image Donetsk without subway. As you know, subway in Soviet Union - in Moscow - was constructed by Donetsk miners, - the vice Prime Minister of Ukraine told. - Now we negotiate with the company which participated in construction of ground-based subway in Dubai. It on the consumer qualities, Carload Park, savings are much more effective than today's underground".

In Borys Kolesnikov's opinion, subway should pass under the ground only in historical city centre.

According to Borys Kolesnikov, it is required at least one and a half year to make a project of subway; the ground-based branch will be in 6-7 times cheaper, than underground. "We have planned 50 km - such figure will be specified in the technical project. 60 km was constructed for 5 years in Dubai – vice Prime Minister of Ukraine informed. - As quickly we realize this problem in Donetsk - depends on our financial possibilities".

As a whole, in Boris Kolesnikov's opinion, the decision on construction of subway in Donetsk, accepted in 70th years, "it was primary adventurous" - because it was planned to construct 63 km of underground. And in Kiev it has been constructed only 50 km during 50 years.

Let's remind the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine prepared the project of the Order of the Cabinet of Ukraine "On approval of the Concept of the Program of construction and progress of a network of undergrounds for 2011-2020". It is According to the offered Concept in Donetsk the sequence of construction and commissioning of starting complexes of Proletarsko-Kyivska line will be reconsidered, considering modern demand of city for transportation of passengers through city centre to railway station and International airport "Donetsk".
