OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2011. A modular maintenance enterprise Zeppelin Russland was launched in Karelia on July 26. Yuri Kancher, First Deputy Head of the Republic of Karelia, has taken part in the ceremony of opening of the modern enterprise.

The new enterprise is located in Petrozavodsk. The Zeppelin Group was founded more than a hundred years ago. The Zeppelin Russland has been operating successfully in territory of Russia's European Region for more than ten years and is a dealer of the world-famous Caterpillar company producing heavy machinery. Today the Zeppelin Russland delivers machinery for mining, non-metal, building industries, forestry and other branches.

The Northwest Region and especially Karelia is a region rich in minerals where iron ore and block stone are extracted, and lots of nonmetallic materials is produced. That is why the Zeppelin enterprise for maintenance of modules and heavy machinery aggregates and the regional warehouse of spare parts is located in Petrozavodsk. Its work will be focused on technical support of enterprises of the Northwest Region.

Speaking at the enterprise opening ceremony, Director General of Zeppelin Russland Frank Janas has told that investment in Karelian enterprise has made about 100 million roubles. Repair of engines, transmissions and reduction gears of machinery operating in open-cut mining has already started here.

In turn, Yuri Kancher has wished the Zeppelin company further development, having mentioned that mining industries of Karelia and Murmansk region are developing actively and high-value equipment requires constant competent maintenance, thus the enterprise in Petrozavodsk will always have job to do.
