OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2011. A group of the European Commission experts is paying a visit to Moldova’s Ministry of Finance to evaluate public finance management efficiency. The EC experts are carrying out the independent and deep estimation of the public finance management on the basis of the self-certification recently carried out by the Ministry of Finance and the institutions within its jurisdiction, the Finance Ministry’s press service repots.

The evaluation criteria will be based on the internationally recognized framework and in the framework of the regulatory monitoring. The public finance management efficiency in Moldova was for the first time evaluated in 2006, the second in 2008. To facilitate the current mission, the Finance Ministry carried out its self-certification for 2008-2010. The results were presented to the EC delegation in Moldova and will be discussed and analyzed in the framework of this mission of the EC experts.

The public finance management reforming process has a complex character and aims to improve quality of the basic public finance management. It is carried out under the aegis of the public finance management project launched in 2006 and realized with support of the World Bank and other foreign development partners.
