OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2011. Team HRD, TRL Krosaki Refractories (TRL Krosaki), has received the first prize in recognition of outstanding achievement in Best Practice in Leadership Development. The award has been conferred by NHRD, Bhubaneswar Chapter, in a function organised in Bhubaneswar on July 16, 2011. BB Panda, chief resident executive, received the award on behalf of Team HRD, TRL Krosaki.

The company’s case studies on its two flagship programmes ie, Millwrights and MDP were highly appreciated by the jury. While Millwrights is a leadership development programme for shop floor employees, MDP is a leadership building programme for officers. The Millwrights programme, which started in 2002, is continuing unabated till date covering nearly 400 workmen. A six-month module, it encompasses theory, practicals, hands-on motivational classes and outdoor training. Plant visits, CSR orientation, Quality Circle involvement, prayer, meditation, yoga and spiritual classes are an integral part of the course. Similarly, MDP, a 12-week in-house managerial development module, focuses on the holistic development of young managers.

TRL Krosaki is endowed with world-class training facilities with a state-of-the-art learning centre, a full-fledged maintenance training centre and a unique refractories engineering workshop. A rich repository of knowledge, it has got a pool of 160 internal faculty spread across different areas of specialisation. Innovative methods like Share Your Knowledge Forum, trekking and outbound development programmes are also adopted to enhance learning and leadership qualities.
