Fujitsu Builds New Online Ordering System for KFC Japan Pizza Hut
OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2011. Fujitsu today announced that it received an order from Kentucky Fried Chicken Japan Ltd. to build a new online ordering system for Pizza Hut, the world's largest pizza chain, in Japan. The online ordering system is now operational at all of Pizza Hut's 360 locations across Japan.
The platform of the new system employs Fujitsu's highly reliable PRIMERGY x86 servers and Interstage middleware. The new online ordering system offers exceptional security with systems integration technology that fully leverages Fujitsu's accumulated know-how for customers in the retailing industry.
With the new system, Pizza Hut becomes the first pizza chain in Japan to accept online orders for future deliveries 24 hours a day. The new online ordering system also accepts credit card payment orders, and allows Japanese customers to use their Ponta multi-partner loyalty program point cards. Customers can also determine which meal sets offer the best value or which of their coupons would be best to use depending on what items they have ordered, using a new savings simulation feature which is scheduled to be available in early August, for high value-added service.
Moreover, with a feature that distributes coupons tailored to individual needs to each registered customer via e-mail, the new online ordering system has further enhanced Pizza Hut's personalized marketing capabilities. With online orders expected to increase, Pizza Hut will be able to deliver improved service to its customers.
